A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV)

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, (Colossians 3:9-10)

When we received salvation the greatest miracle took place. We became the manifestation of what Ezekiel prophesied. We received a new spirit and a new heart. We became new creations in Christ Jesus. The ‘old creation’ Jews were known as being ‘hard hearted’ and ‘stiff necked’. In other words callous and stubborn. In Christ, we are a different breed.

To deny this truth is to be ignorant or in denial of who He has made us. The old relics or vestiges you have of your old life, are the ungodly imaginations and memories you have recorded in your mind before being born again. This is why we are instructed to renew our minds with God’s word. (Romans 12:2)

Even our bodies are to be presented to God because there is muscle memory through habitual acts that need to change. With all this being said, the truth remains; we are new spirits and you are fundamentally your spirit not your body or even your soul for that matter.

Due to this reality, Paul addresses the saints at Colosse and reminds them of who they have become in Christ. Do you know that it’s possible to lie to yourself as a Christian?

Whenever you speak contrary to what God has said in the word, you are actually calling God a liar. You may not realise it. When you then talk to other Christians in the same manner, you are actually all lying to each other. Not intentionally I’m sure.

For example. Some may say there is no such thing as supernatural healing. There may even be an agreeance by the listeners to whom you are speaking with. However, the word of God is replete with multiple scriptures across both Testaments that would strongly disagree with you.

You may have negative self-talk concerning your identity. Phrases like ‘I know myself, I’m never going to make it to where I want to be in life’. This flies in the face of what God says about you.

He calls you are more than a conqueror in Christ. He calls you royal, chosen, sound, prosperous, healthy etc. instead of saying ‘I know myself’ in a negative context say ‘I know myself’ in the light of who you are in Christ.

It may feel like a lie at first, but God never lies. Feelings, emotions and facts lie when they are inconsistent with what God says about you.

Start saying things like ‘I know myself, I’m full of power, love and the life of God. I’m always victorious and I triumph in every place. I can never be defeated, because I am born of indestructible DNA. Pretty soon you will be ‘acting out’ everything that you have told the truth about in every area and your life will go from glory to glory!
