NO SEPARATION IN CHRIST

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2 (KJV)

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 7:38-39 (NKJV)

Ever since the fall of Adam, God has been actively pursuing man and man has been trying to hide from God. What was the first thing that God said to Adam after he sinned ‘Adam where are you?’ and Adam’s response was ‘I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid’…(Genesis 3:10)

Hold that thought for a moment. The same voice that was walking with them in the garden in the cool of the day suddenly struck fear into the heart of man. What happened? Fear and selfishness had entered into man through sin.

Fear, because he said he was afraid and selfishness because he blamed Eve which was Adam trying to shirk personal responsibility for what transpired. Adam now had a spirit of fear which manifested itself in acts of self preservation at the expense of someone else. This typifies selfishness.

Sin also brought death. Not immediate physical death but instant spiritual death. Man through wilful rebellion was cut off from the source of all life which is God. Man was now an animated living soul in a physical body devoid of life and only had existence through the mind, will, emotions and the senses.

Nothing stopped God from reaching out to man from this time until now, although He needed man’s permission to do anything on the earth because ‘He gave the earth to the sons of men.’ Satan was given godship of the systems of the world but the authority to carry things out on the earth was squarely resting on the shoulders of man. Satan and God have been seeking to influence man ever since. One to destroy men’s lives, the other to save them.

Mercifully, before man even found himself in this hopeless state, God had already pre-prepared salvation in Christ. The Word was there in the ‘beginning’ which means ‘genesis’ who became flesh, which is Jesus. God in his all wise-ness brought Jesus onto the stage of history at the appointed time but His appointed time was decided before the world began.

Then Jesus came and died, was buried and was raised from the dead. Through this act of love (which is the opposite of fear) and self-sacrifice (which is the opposite of selfishness) a miracle took place. God’s heartfelt dream to reunite with mankind had been realised. Now man could accept salvation and have a spirit not of fear, but love power and of a sound mind.

Today, there are 2 kinds of people in the world. Those who are still separated from God’s love because of their nature of sin which has brought spiritual death, and those who are in Christ, who have received the life and nature of God and can never be separated from His love ever again. This is because God limits his love for humanity within the parameters of salvation. Why? People are free moral agents and can choose whether or not to accept or reject it. Which one are you?

Jesus has paid in full the price for sin and legally saved everybody but only their acceptance of what He did can make it a vital reality in their lives. When you are Christ and Christ is in you, there can never be a separation between God and you. Just because you don’t feel like it sometimes does not change the truth. You may doubt it’s true but if you are born of the Spirit, no person or thing can ever seperate you from the love of Christ which is found ‘in Christ Jesus our Lord.’

If you are separated from His love, you are the one God is calling out to just like He did with Adam. ‘Where are you?’

Romans 10:13 says ‘whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved’ He’s calling out to you so you can call upon Him. The choice is yours.

APPLICATION

Refuse to allow circumstances and situations to deter you from having the consciousness that if you’re in Christ, nothing or nobody can snatch you out of Jesus or the Father’s hand. Period.
