Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, Hebrews 10:19-21 (NKJV)

Did you know that Jesus performed two major things as our high priest? He entered into the believer after His ascension by the Spirit and He passed into the heavens when a cloud or crowd of witnesses received Him up out of their sight.

Who were they? The Old Testament saints that came out of their graves and walked the streets of Jerusalem. Where did Jesus and these saints all go? We will answer this question. As a follow up from Sunday’s repost, I think we should cover this point more in depth about the other place that Jesus dwells.

Did you know that the humanity of Jesus is as much of an evidence of Him being God as His divinity? The Spirit of Antichrist is any teaching which denies that God came in human flesh; as a man. We know John 1:14 tells that the Word who is God became flesh and dwelt among us.

When Jesus rose from the dead, did He rise as God or man? Most people would say God. Is this true? Jesus became a man to save man. His origin was from God but He laid down His divinity to become man.

Essentially when Jesus was the incarnate Christ, He was a man. How then did He take on the characteristics of God? By the Holy Spirit. ‘The Father in me He does the works’.

Jesus had to receive the Holy Spirit to become like His Father. The only difference is Jesus was not connected to sin through the genetic line of Adam. He was the second Adam. After He died, He was the last Adam or the last kind of man to be created. We then came from His prototype.

Listen closely to what I’m about to say next. Everything Jesus did that was supernatural or miraculous while He was on earth was because of the presence of the Holy Spirit. He couldn’t somehow use his divinity that He laid down. It had to be by the Spirit.

He lived as a man. Ministered as a man who was the seed of Abraham. Died as a man. Was buried as a man went to Hades as a man. Came up out of the grave as a man. Resurrected as a man.

It even says the Holy Spirit left Him when He died physically on the cross and spiritually in Hades. He was the first man to face spiritual death and beat it. The first born from the dead.

He was the first man to become a new creation. He was the firstborn over ALL creation; Physical and spiritual. Why? He was and IS the complete and perfect man. Without sin.

We know that He appeared to many over 40 days after His resurrection but where did He go after that? We covered the first one in ‘God’s right Hand’ i.e.

He came to live in us through the agency of the Spirit. While this is true we can’t forget that Jesus lived, died and was resurrected bodily. What does this tell us? Jesus HAS a body a soul and a spirit as a man.

What we need to understand is the person of the Word cannot go back into the Father because by becoming a man He permanently became our Lord, Saviour and brother. Did you know The man Christ Jesus is not omnipresent. You might be shocked by this statement but let it soak. This is why Jesus said the Father is greater than ALL.

The Father is the Spirit (2 Cor 3:17) therefore being in the Spirit is being in the Father (John 14:11)

So we see from the Biblical account Jesus passed into the unseen realm 40 days after His resurrection. So apart from entering into the believer through salvation, where else did He go? The same place the great cloud of witnesses went. Into the Spirit, in Christ.

That’s why it says we are surrounded by this great cloud of witnesses, because they are here in the invisible realm with us.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Hebrews 4:14 (KJV)

The next verse tells us where He ascended to and it is not only into the heavens. It’s ALSO in the new creation. The children of God.

Hebrews 9:11 tells us,

‘But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands’…

That temple or tabernacle is the believer as WE ARE the temple of the Holy Spirit both individually and collectively.

So Jesus HAS passed into the heavens AND also lives in the believer by the Spirit. He can only be in one place at one time as a man but by the Spirit we feel the effects of His work without limits in us.

Whether we are the dead in Christ that rise first or are of those who are alive and remain; one thing is certain. One day, Jesus will appear from the heavenlies and when we see Him in His glorified form we too will be glorified just like Him.

1 John 4:17 says it like this,

‘Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have BOLDNESS in the day of judgment; because as He IS, so are WE in this world.’

In Christ His love has been perfected in US. This gives us boldness or confidence to rest in the assurance of our eternal salvation in Him.

‘In the day of JUDGEMENT…Krisis is in direct reference to the ‘day of the Lord’. In other words, in the midst of the greatest ‘crisis’, all those in Christ will gloriously be caught up into the Spirit.

Be encouraged today. No matter what troubles you are facing.. if you’re in Christ, there is no shame on your path. You have a glorious future!

Romans 5:5 says,

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

APPLICATION

Take some time to do your own personal study on these two truths. The man Christ Jesus and the Jesus that lives in you by the presence of Holy Spirit.
