CAN YOU SELL YOUR SOUL?

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Mark 8:36-37 (NKJV)

“Behold, all souls are Mine;

The soul of the father

As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.

Ezekiel 18:4 (NKJV)

Have you heard of the idea that if people want to be rich and famous they make a deal with the Devil? There have been stories of actors and musicians signing a contract in blood to guarantee their success and superstardom. What’s the catch? They have to sell their soul. Some are told they can only live for a short amount of time as the terms and conditions of their world-wide fame. If they agreed to it, they go ahead with the deal, they have sold their soul to Satan.

Before we jump to any conclusions on the matter let’s examine the meaning behind what Jesus said in Mark 8:36-37. ‘What would it profit a man’ meaning of what benefit would it be to someone ‘if he gains the whole world’ everything that this world has to offer; money, possessions, fame etc. ‘and loses his own soul’ He infers that it is possible to lose your soul. ‘Or what will a man give in exchange for His soul?’ Can anyone personally give anything in exchange for their soul? What do you think?

It’s important to note that NOWHERE in the Bible does it say anything about selling your soul to the Devil or that it’s even a remote possibility. What the scriptures do tell us however is all souls belong to God and therefore anyone who is complicit in dying in exchange for riches, fame, power etc. has just been deceived by the great deceiver himself. What a tragedy!

Satan knows if you leave this world without accepting Christ you are doomed to destruction. What he won’t tell you is so is he, and he wants to take as many people to with him as possible. He doesn’t care who you are. Remember Satan, his demons and all unbelievers will be destroyed in the Lake of fire which is the second death at the day of the Lord.

So is it possible to sell your soul? Ezekiel 18:4 tells us God says ALL souls are MINE. That means they belong to God. How can Satan get you to sell something to him that does not even belong to you in the first place? This makes no sense The last part of this verse says ‘the soul that sins it shall die’. Adam was still breathing after he died spiritually. Selah

Jesus said in Matthew 10:28,’ And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.’

It appears evident that the Devil has no right or ability to purchase something that does not belong to him or to the person who is offering it. This is a fraudulent transaction. A false sale.

There was only one legal transaction that could be in exchange for the debt of sin for every human soul. The life of the sinless Son of God.

‘Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.’

Everyone has been bought back from destruction for by Jesus perfect sacrifice on the cross. Only those who accept this reality and His gift of salvation can be saved as it’s a choice. Unlike the Devil, God is the owner of your soul, not you or Satan but He will never force you to ‘choose life’.

If anyone has made a blood covenant with any witch or warlock or participated in any occultic ritual I have good news. the blood of Jesus is more powerful than ANY curse! Reject the deception of false ownership. Make Jesus your Lord and Saviour and receive His grace in salvation today (Romans 10:9-10)

Can you sell your soul? Does Satan have any legal ground to claim it? I hope by now that you know the answer to both of these questions.
