A NEW TYPE OF MAN!

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. Galatians 6:15 (NKJV)

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. Colossians 1:15 (NKJV)

Transhumanism is the belief that man needs to be improved using biotechnology to create a new kind of superhuman species. We are fed the idea via movies and the media that we need to merge man and machine through artificial intelligence. The concept that we must evolve or face extinction as a race. A survival of the fittest forged out of the flawed theory of evolution. Without it however there would be no basis for the singularity or the second evolution of man as a species.

But the truth is they’re too late. A superhuman race of people have already been created. So who is the founder of this new species? To answer that question we need to go back to the beginning while looking through the binoculars of the epistles.

Colossians 1:15 makes a powerful statement about Jesus Christ being the ‘firstborn over all creation’. The context here is in reference to mankind. But you might say ‘I thought Adam was the first born over all creation?’

What if I told you that Adam was only a type of man and not the prototype? Would you believe me? Grab those binoculars again and come with me to Romans 5:14.

‘Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of ADAM, who is a TYPE of Him who was to come.’

Did you see it? Adam was a TYPE not the PROTOTYPE. He was made AFTER the image of Christ.

Now let’s go to Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “LET US make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; LET THEM have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Two key phrases here. LET US and LET THEM. LET US is in relation to the Father and Son in divine counsel. Let us make MAN in our image. What does this tell us? Christ is the first man who was made in the image and likeness of God, not Adam. This is what Apostle Paul was showing us in Romans 5:14 when He said Adam was a ‘TYPE of Him who was to come.’ Christ was the HIM that is being referred to here without question.

Then it says “and LET THEM have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” This is in relation to Adam and Eve and their progeny.

With all this in mind we can see that the firstborn over the first type of man was Christ. Colossians 1:17 says of Christ ‘He is BEFORE all things and in Him all things consist’. Before creation, including man. Just because Christ did not appear on the stage of human history before Adam does not mean He was an afterthought. No, Christ was the original thought. He has the pre-eminence or first place.

When the Bible says that Jesus was the ‘Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world’ it showed that Christ was always the plan never a knee jerk reaction to the problem of sin. Remember God in His FOREKNOWLEDGE travelled from the beginning of time to the end of time and then knowing all possible outcomes He started from the beginning.

Romans 8:29 says,

‘For whom He FOREKNEW, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the FIRSTBORN among many brethren.’

Not only is Jesus Christ the firstborn of the first type of man; He is also the firstborn of the second type of man. The man that the Bible calls the man in Christ. This is the full understanding of why He is called the firstborn over ALL creation. Over both species, races or kinds of man. He is the first man to be created by God in the Spirit and the first man to become a new creature or new creation.

Circumcision or uncircumcision? This speaks generically about Jews and non Jews or Gentiles. Whether you are a Jew or a Gentile doesn’t matter to God. The only thing that matters is did you receive salvation and become a new creation in Christ. If we are in Christ the Bible says we are Jews inwardly not outwardly. By the Spirit and not the flesh.

What then is the requirement for superhuman status? YOU IN Christ. One thing that is omitted by Apostle Paul but implied when you understand the gospel is Christ IN YOU. Know this. The second you are in Christ, Christ is in you. These are not two separate events. They happen instantaneously when you confess with your mouth, believing in your heart the Lord Jesus Christ.

Remember Christ was the firstborn of the new creation and we are all following after Him. He is the prototype and we the are type to come after Him. So what are the characteristics of this new type of man?

He has eternal life and is one Spirit with the Lord. He has remission of sins. He is naturally supernatural. He is whole. He is sin free, death free, sickness and disease free. He is a healer, a saviour a lifter a blesser. He is the light of the world, the salt of the earth. He lives in both heaven and earth. He is justified, sanctified and glorified in Him. If you are born of the Spirit I’m just scratching the surface of describing YOU!

The first Adam was human 1.0. The second and last Adam from which we came as believers is Adam 2.0

James 1:18 tells us ‘Of His own will He birthed us by the Word of truth that we should become first fruits of all His creatures.’ FIRST here is better translated as BEST. In other words, the believer is the best type of man that God has ever produced or will ever produce! The cream of the crop. You may not believe it or feel that it’s the case but that doesn’t change the truth. Truth is a fact that has already happened. That’s why truth is higher than temporal facts.

Are you going to believe and accept what God says about you in Christ? As long as you think you are just like everybody else you will talk and act that way. Why not stir up the gift of the Holy Spirit in you and start living to your God given potentials?

Think talk and act like you are a new creature in Christ that never existed before who is superior to Satan because that is exactly who you are!

It’s our responsibility to see old things ARE passed away and ALL things are new. We must refuse to be conformed into the system of this age but be continually transformed by the renewing of our minds. Then we will be able to prove what is that good, acceptable and perfect will of God in Christ.’

We don’t need transhumanism to be superhuman we have something far better; Christ!

APPLICATION

Do a personal study on the new type of man we have become and let the Holy Spirit convince you through the epistles about the new creation you have become in Christ.
